Referral Program Terms
These terms govern the ListBetter Referral Program for sellers, agents and partners. Please read carefully before referring.
Earn rewards by referring new sellers or agents to ListBetter.
Up to $500 per qualified referral — Tiered based on the final sale price, paid after settlement.
Separate programs — Sellers can refer sellers; agents can refer agents.
No self-referrals — Strict fraud prevention enforced.
7-day hold — Then payout (minimum $50).
Governed by Queensland law.
By participating in the ListBetter Referral Program, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not participate.
Program Types
ListBetter offers two referral programs:
Seller Referral Program — Available to existing property sellers. Earn rewards when you refer a new seller whose property sells and settles through ListBetter.
Agent Referral Program — Available to registered real estate agents. Earn rewards when you refer a new agent who wins a listing and the sale settles.
Reward Tiers
Rewards are tiered based on the final sale price of the referred property and paid after settlement:
Under $500,000 — $300
$500,000 – $999,999 — $400
$1,000,000 – $1,999,999 — $450
$2,000,000 and above — $500
ListBetter may update reward tiers with notice. Rewards earned before any change will be honoured at the original rate.
Referral Requirements
To be eligible to participate and earn rewards, you must:
Have an active ListBetter account in good standing
Not be suspended or under investigation
A referral is valid only when:
The referred person is new to ListBetter (no prior account)
They sign up using your unique referral link
They complete their profile and submit a property (for seller referrals) or apply to receive leads (for agent referrals)
Qualification & Payment
Rewards are earned only when the referred seller’s property successfully sells through the winning agent and settlement is completed. You do not earn rewards for sign-ups, property submissions, or deals that do not settle.
Payment hold: All rewards are subject to a 7-day hold period from the date of qualification.
Minimum payout: $50 AUD.
ABN requirement: If your total referral earnings exceed $1,000 AUD in a financial year, you must provide a valid Australian Business Number (ABN).
Without an ABN, ListBetter must withhold 47% tax under ATO rules.
Payments are made via bank transfer after the hold period. You are responsible for providing accurate bank details.
Anti-Gaming Rules
The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification of rewards, suspension, or termination:
Self-referrals — Referring yourself, family members, or accounts you control
Fake sign-ups — Creating or encouraging fake accounts or property submissions
Payment gaming — Paying fees on behalf of your referral to trigger qualification
Collusion — Arranging circular referrals with others
Incentivised referrals — Offering any portion of the reward to the referred person
Spam — Sending unsolicited messages promoting your referral link
ListBetter uses automated fraud detection (IP tracking, device fingerprinting, email patterns, referral velocity, etc.). Flagged referrals are held for manual review and may be rejected.
Clawback Policy
ListBetter may reverse (clawback) any paid or credited reward if:
Settlement falls through or is disputed
The referral is determined to be fraudulent
The referred user's account is banned
A chargeback or refund occurs on any related payment
Clawbacks will be deducted from your balance. If insufficient, they may be deducted from future earnings.
Tax Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for any tax obligations arising from referral rewards. ListBetter will provide payment summaries as required by Australian tax law. We recommend you consult a tax professional.
Privacy & Data
Your participation is subject to the ListBetter Privacy Policy. We track referral clicks, conversions, and activity for program administration and fraud detection.
Termination
ListBetter may suspend or terminate your participation in the Referral Program at any time for violations or suspected fraud. Upon termination:
Pending qualified rewards will be paid after the hold period (unless forfeited due to breach)
Your referral link will be deactivated
Unqualified referrals will not be credited
Intellectual Property & Platform Misuse
In addition to the intellectual property protections in these Terms, you are also bound by the Platform Terms of Use. You must not, directly or indirectly:
Copy, replicate, recreate, or rebuild any platform features, workflows, logic, or automations
Create derivative works (including “inspired by” versions)
Use the platform or knowledge gained to build a competing service
Scrape, extract, or export platform data
Use the platform to train AI or create competing systems
These obligations survive termination. Breaches may result in immediate termination, forfeiture of unpaid rewards, and enforcement action including liquidated damages of AUD $5,000 per breach (which the parties agree is a genuine pre-estimate of the loss ListBetter would suffer from such a breach, including development costs, lost revenue opportunities, and brand damage which are difficult to quantify precisely), plus full indemnity for legal costs.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ListBetter's liability under these Terms is limited to the value of rewards that have been earned but not yet paid. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
Governing Law
These Referral Program Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes must be brought exclusively in the courts of Queensland. These Terms, together with the ListBetter Platform Terms of Use, Seller/Agent Terms (as applicable), and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement regarding your participation in the Referral Program.
